SAG prepared a convention center expansion feasibility study for the Columbus Iron Works Convention and Trade Center in Columbus, GA. The City desired to position itself as the dominant destination to host Georgia state association business as well as smaller regional events. In addition to size and type of space needed, the study analyzed the need for convention hotel rooms, their desired location with respect to the center, and how their development might be expedited via city assistance in the form of parking development, land assemblage, or other incentives. The study concluded there was sufficient market support to warrant expansion. The expansion was completed and included increasing meeting and ballroom space from 22,000 square feet to over 66,000 square feet.
