David Abrams joins SAG Team Bringing Stadium, Public Facility and Financing Experience

David Abrams is a Stadium and Public Assembly Facility Financing Specialist. Mr. Abrams has over 28 years of experience as a lead investment banker and advisor for numerous public and private assembly facilities including the financing of stadiums, arenas, and other sports venues. He has advised Houston NFL Holdings in the financing of an NFL expansion franchise (Houston Texans) and domed stadium (Reliant Stadium). He served as advisor to the City of Jacksonville in the issuance bonds for the benefit of the renovated NFL Jacksonville Jaguars’ Stadium. For over 15 years, Mr. Abrams advised South Florida Stadium Corporation/Dolphin Stadium regarding its capital structure and the issuance of debt for the construction and improvements of the stadium. In 2006 and 2007, Mr. Abrams led Dolphins Stadium through the funding process of a $210 million capital expansion for the home of the Miami Dolphins, Florida Marlins, and the University of Miami Hurricanes. Mr. Abrams also advised the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the lease negotiations and the funding of Raymond James Stadium. All of the above-mentioned NFL venues have hosted one or more Super Bowl events. Mr. Abrams is currently advising the Atlanta Falcons football club in their proposed NFL stadium project. Mr. Abrams served as lead banker to Miami-Dade County, Florida on its offering of bonds to fund the construction of the USTA International Tennis Facility on Key Biscayne, as well as improvements to the Miami Arena, the Orange Bowl, and the Homestead Sports Complex. He also served as lead banker to the County in the 2009 financing for the new Miami Marlins Ballpark and is served in the same capacity for the City of Miami for the new Marlins Stadium Parking Garage. Mr. Abrams has participated in advising the purchasers for a $1.1 billion purchase of the Madison Square Garden Companies including Madison Square Garden, the New York Knickerbockers and Rangers. He has served as an advisor to a client in the bidding for an existing NBA franchise and arena in the Midwest; and provided the financing analysis for the Pepsi Center, home to the NBA Nuggets and NHL Avalanche. Mr. Abrams has advised the Portland Trailblazers, Florida Panthers and New York Islanders ownership on matters related to their venues and related facilities.
