SAG is leading an effort for the City of Miami Beach to redevelop their Convention District by renovating/expanding their convention center, developing an 800-rm convention hotel, and developing complementary commercial uses and public amenities on a 52-acre site. Our services include project/program conceptualization, leading a competitive developer selection process, negotiating term sheets with short listed teams, financial plan development, assisting with the legal documentation of the transaction, and numerous stakeholder and City Commission briefings to gain project approval. The public projects are to be financed through a new 1% dedicated hotel tax and the monetization of the commercial development site leases.
