SAG prepared a feasibility study for the expansion of meeting and banquet facilities in downtown Norfolk, VA. The market research indicated that Norfolk is an attractive destination for smaller meetings and a conference facility offering two 30,000 square foot ballrooms that could double as exhibit space and 45,000 square feet of meeting space would allow Norfolk to market to the “next level†of meetings. This facility would be part of a full-service hotel and, when necessary, this hotel and conference center could be sold as a package with the 405-room Marriott Waterside Convention Center (44,800 square feet of meeting space) and the 445-room Sheraton Waterside (23,100 square feet of meeting space).
