SAG prepared a convention center expansion study for The Classic Center in Athens, GA. The study evaluated historical performance of the center, analyzed the local, northeast Georgia and regional markets, identified the competitive market, evaluated industry trends, gathered feedback from potential users and promoters, estimated potential demand and utilization for an expanded facility, and estimated the potential economic impact of an expanded facility. The study concluded that there was market support for expansion of the exhibition space of The Classic Center. In addition, the study recommended the expansion should include the development of a 200-room attached convention hotel.
